CORGI DIECAST COLLECTOR DIECAST TV AND FILM MODELS FOR SALE
Corgi Diecast models are world famous for there TV and film related models and collectibles , they started in the 60's with awesome models never seen before by diecast manufacturers such as James Bond cars with working features just like in the movie,
Awesome models such as a fully equipped with gadgets Batmobile that Batman drove even included miniature Batman and Robin figures and the cool Chitty chitty bang bang again with figures
Corgi have always had a good relationship with studios to get licenses for tv shows and films especially in the 60's and 70's corgi seemed to make all the Movie vehicles in that period of time.
But then in the 80's Ertl came along a American company i would say caught Corgi models napping a little and took all the good tv shows including The A-Team and Thomas the tank engine easily one of the most successful diecast lines of all time.
Thomas and friends model trains are something surely corgi must I've realised was a massive mistake not having themselves unsure why but hey management to be frank looking back seemed clueless,
Surely mistakes like this caused the poor models of the 80's and am sure corgi only survived this period due to how big there brand was and still fondly remembered from the 60's toys,
Corgi in the 90's to modern day have again got licenses to make near enough anything including the A-team and knight rider models such shame they used a old Chevrolet cast to make the GMC A-team van just don't look right. so maybe corgi are not allowed to make GMC models ??
Finally Corgi were making nice models again but were pricey as many were just recasts of older models with added figures and different colours but we lapped them up.
The current modern corgi tv and movie related models are worth looking out for i would say only draw back is cheap window boxes they put them in surely corgi could afford perspex cases seeing there not cheap models and many of the models in the modern tv related models are just repainted re-boxed old 70's 80's casts as mentioned before
I know i sound a bit negative but that's what corgi do a lot is use lets say a old 80's corgi jaguar xjs then re release it in white with bit of trim detail and box it up as a modern saint car and charge the earth for it!
I still recommend collecting corgi tv related models as they cater for several collectors, film collectors corgi collectors or collectors of the make of vehicle so they hit a few markets which means they keep there resale value pretty well.
