Franklin and Danbury mint models are highly detailed adult collector and easily the nicest 1:24 scale models you can buy with fully opening parts and if are cabriolets they tend to include hoods which is a nice touch Franklin mint and Danbur

These Model Cars not meant for children to play with are aimed for the adult collector, mainly made in 1:24 scale, famous for there vintage cars for the 1980's but in recent years have made some stunning American classic muscle cars and of course Rolls Royce models.

One of my favourites is the Franklin mint Ferrari f40, this was a expensive model to purchase new and often made in low amounts between 1,000-5,000 batches what made Franklin mint so appealing to collectors is firstly the quality but also the payment plan you bought them and paid in installments via mail order from the back of a magazine or newspaper ( before the Internet) now of course you can order online ,

Danbury and Franklin mint do not sell there models to model shops but of cure model shops like myself sell them but if you see them outside there website for sale they are not new but pre loved so always check condition before buying the older models can have bumpers falling off due to dry glue over the years and some earlier Franklin mint models such as the Mercedes 540k roadster are very prone to the interior yellowing over time if it been on display ,

so my advice with these models if you see them at auction is to always check them yourself and do not go on word of seller or auctioneer as most times there just sellers of these models and not experts!

Franklin mint mostly make 1:24 scale models of cars but they also do a stunning range of 1:10 scale motorcycles such as Indians and Harley Davidson's and they make a range of classic 1:43 American cars.
