I was a 80's kid and i have fond memories of finding these figures in charity shops and jumble sales,
I actually owned a boxed Stretch Armstrong incredible Hulk that cost my Nan 50p from a church fair, why i why did i get angry and bite it as there worth a price of a car these days....
Basically Mego ruled the 1970's with there action figures and playsets they made items such as :

and Mego made even much much more .....................
How Mego went bankrupt i have no idea as they were better figures tan what came later imagine if star wars had been made by mego or masters of the universe.
anyway there became a memory of our childhoods in 1983
