As a sseasoned copllector and dealer myself most collectables guides are very poorly written and prices inflated from my experience many of the writers are infact huge collectors who tend to over value there prices for there own gain such as John Ramsay's diecast model collecting books and millers i have no idea what there smoking or drinking honestly,

i have found in recent years now printers are so good that a lot of smaller publishers are making great books look out for independent collectibles books these are much better than mainstream as made with passion not profit in mind.

if =anyone wants a true value of there items either go to eBay and look up completed sold items (not what dealers are asking but have actually sold)

you will learn more by this, another top tip of mine is register with a site called Invaluable.com a online auction house website that has helped sell millions of items at real auction go see there sold data base, again a newer site catawiki sign up with them a look at the real current market, if going by price guides for how much you will get or should pay you will lose a fortune i promise this!!
