Solido & Verem diecast models
Solido Diecast models made in France are very good mass produced quality diecast., there company history is prolific with the company starting in the 1930's and models from that period are extremely rare and exchange hands for vast amounts of money,
Solido were a major competitor to Corgi Diecast in the 80's and i must say solido are nicer models from that era , there main scale is 1:43 they also do very impressive military models there world war military Tanks are such good models with actual metal treads , Solido also make a nice range of fire engine related models amongst over lines and a nice touch they did with many models is include decals with models to add extra detail, as i say much nicer than corgi from the mid 70's and 80's and better quality
Solido also do make 1:18 scale models i myself owned some as a teenager and my favorite was there Peugeot 205 gti model i loved it,
in the early part of the century like so many famous European brands followed suit and ran off to china and made there models there, solido also had a subsidiary company called Verem which was used to make models solido no longer wanted to and these were nicer more detailed or should i say more expensive to produce as solido were going down the cheaper way o produce models route that's basically were Verem models came from hence they look like there solido because of boxes they come in.
